Daguan Ling Our Students are Thankful For You I am Daguan Ling and my Chinese name is 凌大冠 。 I am a senior third student, I have already received Blessing Hands' help for three years. Maybe I can't use any impressive words to express what it is in my heart, but I can say that Blessing Hands is my best home where there are many people with a kind heart, and they only think about us, thinking of our study and our future.  I think every one who knows about the Blessing Hands should do their effort to provide for it. In the Blessing Hands' home, I can learn not only that people all over the world are one unit, but also everyone has a kind heart. I hope everyone can give another a hand so there is a more beautiful world in future years! Qinzhou, Guangxi, China Happy Thanksgiving We are very thankful for all of you who have given to our #GoodGivingGuide Challenge since November 13th.  From now until December 31, 2015, our friends will come together to raise money for classroom computers for Du'an Special Education School.  We need YOU to join us. It's a season of unprecedented nonprofit giving, and it's your chance to make a real difference for our students. JOIN US IN HELPING SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS HAVE CLASSROOM COMPUTERS.

It has begun! Our #GoodGivingGuide Challenge has activated. You can now make donations on  Our Giving Site.  Help them be computer literate as well as able to read Braille. Click for more pictures. Give Computers to Special Education School  We have a goal of giving 24 computers to Du'an Special Education School.  Blessing Hands was chosen among 100 Central Kentucky nonprofits to be included in the #GoodGivingGuide Challenge. The challenge starts now and will continue until December 31st. We are raising money for computers. Ever since we gave 18 computers to the Du'an Special Education School, we have purposed to give them 24 more so all 14 classes can have three computers. These students need to have occupational training so they can get jobs someday. Computers level the employment field and allow student to not be identified as "handicapped". We are all equal online.  Handicapped in body does not mean handicapped in mind and spirit. Windows computers can be bought for $500 in China. Our goal is $13,000, since they need software and accessories also. These special students could then Skype with a Sister School's students and even learn English from volunteers online. We were contacted by an international school in China that wants to chat with our students. Qinzhou high school students receive new clothes. 160 Qinzhou High School Students Get New Clothes Through the generosity of a local donor, all of our 160 high school students will have new clothes this semester. Mr. Chen is involved in a charity himself and wanted to help our students who have to pay their own expenses in high school. Thank you so much for your generous gift.  He also gave coats to Blessing Hands' students.  The girls especially liked the new clothes. You can help raise money during the #GoodGivingGuide Challenge! Even a $10 gift counts by expanding our number of donors.  We already have over a hundred dollars given on site and a match challenge for $100 from a generous donor. Give to help these children. Caizhuan's father died in 2008 and his mother remarried. After she had a new son, she was not interested in her first family of Caizhuan and his 4 sisters. Xiumei is lovely, pretty and a little shy, but studying well in school. #GoodGivingGuide Challenge - November 13th - Dec 31st. Blessing Hands is involved with the GoodGiving challenge that will help 100 chosen KY nonprofits raise money for their causes. The charity that raises the most in the various size categories will win $5,000 for their endowments at the Bluegrass Community Foundation. The categories count how much is donated and how many donors support what causes. Those donations can come from all over the world.  Matching Funds Blessing Hands is looking for friends willing to establish matching gift promotional challenges. We can raise more money if supporters will give us matching gifts from $100 on up to $500 + so we can challenge other givers to match the gift. Contact usabout being a matching donor.  CrowdFunding Pages Another way you can help our kids receive a $5,000 endowment prize is to become an Ambassador. You would create your own online crowdfunding page with the help of an Ambassador toolkit at this link. We especially need pages in Chinese since the GoodGiving Challenge is international. Give 24 Computers to Du'an Special Education School Our GoodGiving Goal is to raise $13,000 to give 24 computers to Du'an special education school in China. We want to give the students an opportunity to learn to communicate online where their handicap will not be noticed, and they can develop vocational skills.  These computers will serve deaf, blind, and wheelchair bound students. I even saw one dwarf and an autistic child. Since compulsory education ends at the 9th grade in China, these students only have until middle school graduation to learn occupational skills. Computer knowledge could help them get jobs someday. We must intervene in these students lives to give them a step up in opportunities. Our share page is where you can give starting November 13th. Qin Liling is 8 years old and in the 2nd grade. The Wuxuan County Program Adds More Children Will it be 9 or 5 who are helped? We were so pleased with the volunteers' dedication in the Wuxuan area, that we told them to select 5 more students for Blessing Hands to help.  However, they had found 9 children they wanted to help. It will be up to your help if we take all nine or only the five.  Qin Liying and her sister Qin Qinli are orphans. Her father died August, 2015 of  electrocution.  Their mother suffers from mental illness. Once she even tried to strangled one child during an attack of illness. Five years ago, the mother ran away. So far she is still missing.   Qin Qinli is 9 and in the 3rd grade. Qin Qinli, the 9 year-old stepsister of Qin Liying,hasn't been allowed to register a hukou,  which would have given her a birthright to government services. She is a non-person who will live outside the protection of the law. She lives without any subsistence allowance, access to a high school degree, legal work permit, or future legal marriage. She is 9 years old but looks like a 7 year-old because of malnutrition. Both girls suffer from poverty and lack of provisions.  Pick a child online since we can't feature them all here.     Give for a Sponsorship Liao Songliang's father died in 2014. He has become depressed and often asks where his father is. His mother is mentally ill and has returned to her mother's home, so his 80 year old grandfather takes care of him. Caizhuan's father died in 2008 and his mother remarried. After she had a son, she was not interested in her first family of Caizhuan and his 4 sisters.   Chan Xing with volunteers. Chan Xing needs a sponsor to help him finish high school. Chan Xing's mother died when he was 10, and his father, who once was a teacher, went out to work and died of AIDS in 2015. His 90 year old grandmother and a cousin are trying to help him finish high school in 2018.
