Myanmar Projects

Myanmar (Burma)

Photo from Khinphong Village. Blessing Hands gave their school a new computer, a motorcycle, and sponsored ten students in the local school.

Updates on a few of our programs in Myanmar. Much has happened this Spring and we look forward to hearing your responses about the programs here.
Blessing Hands sponsored an English course for 90 students in New Taubu Village in Myanmar (Burma). Two bilingual Mara minority teachers lived in the village to teach for three-months.
The English course was so popular the village is hoping to do another English course in the future. Learning English will give students a chance for a better education and job in the future.
Bakala Village suffered a huge fire that wiped out the whole village including the school. They have lost everything. They do not have houses, rice, shoes, t-shirts, uniforms, pens, and books in the houses or in the school. Blessing Hands is sending them $1,800 for the school's needs to get them up and going again. We need donations to cover this expense. Will you help by contributing to this school?
Aung Dari (Di Di) has become our director in the Mara speaking area of the Chin State of Myanmar. He is a recent graduate of a Bible college in India. He is married with one daughter. His wife is from New Taubu Village, so he is delighted to have a way to serve that area and support his family. He was one of the teachers from our 3 month English program and is delighted to stay in the village.

Blessing Hands has set a goal of surveying educational equipment needs in 10 villages this coming year and respond to these needs. Having a new administrator to oversee the programs in Myanmar also makes it possible to survey health needs in the 'New and Old Taubu Villages' in order to assist our "Where There Is No Doctor" project scheduled for December of 2021.
Tun Tang, administers our program in Khinphong Village in the Mindat area of the Chin State of Myanmar. He is a retired teacher in the village and a leader or headman. He has identified 10 students in the village who need sponsorship. Three of them must leave the village to receive a high school training in a larger town.

Tun Tang also asked for a generator for the school and 10 wooden desks for the students and plastic chairs for the teachers.

There is no electricity in the village, so we are giving them a solar panel big enough to serve the school and perhaps the church pictured here.

The school needs school supplies for 121 students. They will also get balls and jump ropes for the playground and other things the school needs. Last year we gave them a computer, motorcycle, and books for their library. We will give them a total of $5,264 for other needs this year. The schools in Myanmar have very little and most students stop at 8th grade. Make a donation today for Khinphong Village and help this village and students thrive.
