Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving & Holiday Season

We wanted to take a moment to let you know how thankful we are to have sponsors and donors like you. We wish you and your family nothing but the best this Thanksgiving and throughout the holiday season.
The Taubu Schools are thankful for their 2 new motorcycles that will be used to bring books and supplies a one day journey to their schools and villages. Old Taubu has formed a Charity Board to report on what they are doing with our support and how funds are allocated.

The New Taubu Village headman asked to know when we might be able to receive a phone call. He will go a days drive or a three days walk to the nearest town that has internet in order to contact Blessing Hands to thank us for all the school supplies, child support, books, and the 2 motorcycles you have given them and the nearby New Taubu Village.

We want to buy a third motorcycle for the Khinphong Village School in Southern Chin State. Message us if you want to contribute toward that $460 motorcycle. It will open their village and its' school up to receive books and school supplies much quicker than renting a motorcycle for a day for $430. You can give any amount at this link.

I am Zhou Xiangmei, from a small village near Qinzhou City, Guangxi Province, China. I hope to become a qualified math teacher in the future. My parents are working at home as farm laborers. There is no stable work. The main source of income in the family is my parent's temporary work, so the income is meager.

My parents have to bear the cost of schooling for their three children. My second brother is studying at Baise College, and my sister is studying in Guangxi Modern. I am studying at Guangxi Vocational College of Science and Technology. I have to pay more tuition at a vocational college. My older brother is now a repairman apprentice, but his income has not been able to help the family's economic pressure.

I usually like to listen to music, run, and participate in activities with my classmates. If I can receive this scholarship, I will pass on this love in the future.

Will you help her stay in school? She has taken out a loan and accepted a government scholarship, but she still needs more to cover her expenses of $2,357 a year. She is late in applying because she has tried other ways to support her college education. Finally she asked us for help, too.

Blessing Hands wants to give Xiangmei a $650 yearly scholarship for four years. Give any amount here to help her.
My dad is deceased and my mum went missing when I was very young. I am an orphan. I live with my uncle and my grandma. We are very poor. My uncle does not have good health and can’t do much labor. He has to look after my grandma and cover the expense of her treatments for her illness. I am now attending public boarding middle school. We have a huge expense every month.

Seventh Grade 秦小燕 Qin Xiaoyan

Will you help Qin Xiaoyan with her school expenses? She is in Daxu Junior High School near Guilin. She needs $322 (2250 yuan) for her yearly school expenses. You can give here. I got to meet Qin Xiaoyan in person in September. Her teacher brought her to us in the school office and stayed to make sure we would accept her into our program.
Sincerely,

Betty Cutts for Blessing Hands

We have new students in Myanmar now.

Myanmar is our focus this month.
We have two new programs in Myanmar's Chin State. Both contacts came from university students we know in KY.

Mindat is one area where Khinphong Village schools are entering our program. David Moe and his wife Prissila are our volunteers there with the help of David's father, Tun Thang, who is a retired village teacher.
These two places are so remote that they don't have electricity and it takes three days to get to the nearest city walking. It is a day's drive on a motorcycle except in the rainy season when it is impossible to get there easily.
Another program is in the Maraland area where we are helping two villages, New Taubu and Old Taubu. Bie Paw is our volunteer there. He is passionate about helping his home area.

Bie Paw came to the USA as a refugee five years ago and began to learn English. He had promised his village to send money for school supplies but had been unable to afford to send any money since he is a student. We invited him to set up a sponsorship program for the two Taubu villages with Blessing Hands. .
New Taubu Village only has a few families and the school is in the teacher's home. The villagers use slash and burn agriculture where land belongs to everyone. There are no jobs in the village except planting and hunting. You can see some of the school supplies at the dedication ceremony held in the teacher's home/school in the picture below.
Old Taubu Village has 91 students, who we are giving school supplies at $15 each. If you want to give for this project, message us. They have a larger school that needs a lot of items also.
They got a satellite dish on this motorcycle. Lots of school supplies also made the trip.
Chairs and tables for the school, a generator and flat screen TV all came by motorcycle.
Bie Paw said that it cost $430 to hire a motorcycles to deliver school supplies to his area. He also said that it only cost about $460 to buy a good motorcycle in Myanmar. Our board decided that buying the two areas dedicated motorcycles would save money.

We already have the donation of one motorcycle and want to match that money to provide two more for the other villages. Will you contribute toward a motorcycle for these villages?

Donate toward a $460 motorcycle here. You can also send a check to Blessing Hands, 106 Timber Lane, Morehead, KY 40351. Contact us for more information.
Kipi Pawngia needs a sponsor. she is in the 5th grade at New Taubu school. There are nine students needing. support shown at this link. It only cost $50 a year. They are all primary students.
You can change the life of Na Za Ri by giving him an education. He is also at New Taubu Village. Give at this link or send us a $50 check to Blessing Hands, 106 Timber Lane, Morehead, KY 40351.
Visit Myanmar

David Moe wants people to come to his village with him after March 14th in 2020. He will visit his family and introduce people to the needs in his home village. Maybe you can go by motorcycle instead of walking three days.

If you are a hardy soul with talents to share, consider going with him to Myanmar. It would be a trip back in time to a culture that lives off the land and does not have a monetary outlook. If you are interested in visiting a vastly different culture with a translator who grew up there. A picture of his village is below.

You will need to contact David Moe for more information about how much it would cost and what activities you should expect. Bie Paw will be glad to also take a group to his village after he graduates in May of 2022.
You could even meet your sponsored child in the villages. Below are older children from David Moe's village. Their expenses are more.
You can give a gift of education in honor of a special someone at Christmas. Give one of our Blessing Hands gift cards. A picture of the child sponsored will be in the card. Contact us for more information
Lots of small playground items were recently given to three primary schools in Longfu Township in Guangxi Province, China by Blessing Hands. We collect money for this project from cash jars placed in Chinese Restaurants near Morehead. Drop in your change when you visit them.
