Blessing Hands Board Votes to Enter Thailand

Blessing Hands' Board Votes to Enter Thailand

Blessing Hands is considering helping En-Hui Chinese School in Thailand.

Yaya Luo has visited the school. I plan to visit there with Yaya in September. I did not go to China this summer, but perhaps I will be in Nanning after I go to Thailand.

Pastor Lee Tianshou 李天寿 and his wife started the school in 2004 and got legal certification for running the school in 2011.

The school is near Chaing Mai and the border with Myanmar in Northen Thailand. It is supported by a church as a school, orphanage, and refugee center. Many of the students are not Thai citizens and cannot leave the area.

Around sixty of the students out of eight hundred and seventy need sponsors. They are orphans, refugees, or abandoned children from large or drug families that cannot afford to pay for their education.
En-Hui a private language school, which focuses on teaching students Chinese, Math, Bible, and a little bit of English. Most students come to learn two to three hours in the afternoon or in the evening after their regular Thai schooling which is free.

They have mostly younger children but have given high school degrees for the first time this year. They have 2 centers in two sites in this village of 22,000 people.

Yaya has decided to help this school get a water puriifer and found a sponsor for one. She hopes to get another one for the new building. They need better storage tanks also. Blessing Hands cannot raise money in China, but Yaya can ask her friends privately for help for projects.
Pastor Lee, the principal says they do not have enough water. They need to purify the water since they have to drink it as well. Another purifier is needed for the new orphange and refugee center they are building. They are replacing the present orphan and refugree house.

$22,034 USD is needed to finish it. On the second floor, they will have an activities center for kids for learning at night, weekends and other activities.
They have very simple classrooms. The desks are not good for use due to the height and being so heavy for kids. Sometimes they knock them over, and students may be hurt.

However, the most important thing that they want is projectors for lower middle school students. If they had some, it would help students to learn better.

Yaya is determined to get them library books and has been asking her friends to fund some books in Chinese.
New Chief Representive in China
Yaya Luo is going to be our Chief Representative in China since Matthew Liu has to give up the post for family reasons. Yaya has worked with Blessing Hand since 2011 when she was our first employee.

Tian Muying will continue to be our full-time Assistant Director in Nanning. They will work together. Yaya is from the Buyi minority group so she understands our minority students. She will still teach private English classes. Yaya is very interested in expanding our work to Thailand.
These four students are at Lingchuan High School. Blessing Hands has 20 sponsored students there. Their support is $33 a month if you want to sponsor one. Just contact us to arrange a sponsorship.

A Letter from Our Student

We got this letter recently from Xiaoting, a senior student graduating from high school in Qinzhou. Her father has died and the family needed help so she could continue her education. We are so glad to help students like her succeed in school and life.

Dear Blessing Hands,

How is everything? I'm one of the students you helped. My name is Yang Xiaoting. I am a senior high school student, and I am a girl of seventeen. I am very grateful for your help, which makes me have more courage to face life and study.

My father died when I was ten, leaving behind my elderly mother and my brothers. My relatives treat us badly and don't care much about us, so we have to make a living by ourselves. My older brother had to drop out of school to work because of our family's financial difficulties. And my younger brother is too young to work and has to go on to school.

I am also in school, but I have to work on my own during the summer and winter holidays to earn my living expenses. However, the Hand of Blessing has helped ease the financial pressure on our family, and I am very grateful for the help. I will always remember this kindness and pass it on to help those in need.

There is an old Chinese saying: a drop of water should be returned like the sea.

Thank you again, sincerely.
I always believe that love never goes out. So I will pass the love on to everyone.

Best wishes.
yours,
Yang Xiaoting
