Orphan Girls Need Sponsors

Two Orphan Girls in Myanmar
SPONSOR THEM

Nokhei (Esther) and her older sister Ngohniso are orphans in Yangon in Myanmar. Their mother died of cancer soon after Esther was born, and their father died two months later of cancer also.

They have been living with the older brother of their mother and their grandmother, Nei Si, but the uncle already has two children of his own. It is hard for so many people in one place. They are visiting around with friends who will take them for a week. The grandmother is willing to live in a separate home with the girls, but she cannot afford that. Nei Si needs sponsors to help with the day-to-day expenses of the girls. The girls are 9 and 6 years old.

They live in Yangoo where $40 a month would rent a house for the three, $35 would cover food for both girls and their grandmother monthly, and $25 a month would be sufficient for clothes and other items needed for their daily needs. That comes to $70 a month for each girl or $600 a year for each girl to live with their grandmother. We inquired about getting them into the care of a foster home, but there are so many covid orphans that there are no spaces there. It is better for them to be with family anyway.

Their grandmother Nei Si wants to take care of them but can't afford it on her own.
MYANMAR HAS MANY NEEDS
The teachers and medical personnel in Myanmar are on strike against the new military coup. During the Covid-19 epidemic there is no medical care easily available. The schools are closed because of covid and the strikes. Inflation has hit the country hard.

What chance do these two girls have without help?

Will you sponsor one or both? Message us to sponsor them.

Myanmar is Suffering

      Whole family groups are displaced.

Mindat people have hidden in the jungle.

This request for help recently came from David Moe from Khinphong Village in Myanmar's Chin State.

"Since May 13, 2021, my hometown has been placed under martial law due to the local civilians' resistance to the military armies with homemade hunting guns, "tumee" in Burmese. Since then, about 90% of the residents, including my parents, have left Mindat town for the jungles and villages to seek safety.

The military army entered people’s houses and stole their private property. In my parents’ house, they left some bullets. My parents and other civilians are scared of the military army, so they have chosen to live in the jungle and villages as refugees.

They desperately need financial aid for their daily food, clothes, shelter, and medical care. Now the third wave of COVID-19 is so bad that life is even harder.

Hidden from the military in the jungle

Blessing Hands has sent $4,250 to our administrators in Mindat and Matupi for these displaced families. They need much more. Because we are a nonprofit, Facebook allows us to receive donations without any fee being required.

Mindat Refugees fleeing to the mountains

Blessing Hands has been helping the Chin State villages in two areas of Myanmar for over two years. Now that Covid-19 restrictions and teacher strikes have stopped the schools, we are turning our efforts from education to helping the displaced people of Mindat and Matupi who are fleeing from martial law and the soldiers of the coup.

Please give so they can be safe.

Rainy Season Escape from Mindat City

"Many refugees in my village live in fear and need our prayers and financial assistance. I am requesting financial help for them. About 500 people live in our village as refugees. Any amount of financial aid you would graciously offer would be deeply appreciated. " David Moe
