Maggie Qin

This solar unit can supply electricity to a church or school or just be a street light in Mara villages. They have no electricity. Blessing Hands has decided to give eight of them to two villages in the Taubu area of Maraland in the Chin State of Myanmar. Bie Paw, a 32 year old Maraland student at our local university, has been helping us to arrange the units for his villages.
Maggie Qin was touched by a PowerPoint Bie Paw made about the need of New Taubu Village for electricity. She decided to give from her weekend waitress income to buy them a solar system to bring electricity to their church. The village is a three-day walk from the nearest source of electricity, but solar systems work well there.

Maggie works at Yamato Japanese restaurant in Morehead, KY on weekends. She is a junior in high school.
You can give too. Just message us. One system costs $230.

3 Month English School
Blessing Hands has given sponsorship to an English Camp in New and Old Taubu Villages in Myanmar. Two bilingual English teachers are boarding in the village and teaching about 90 students in various class levels each day. Notice the boards painted black for writing on. The original blackboards were really boards.

Corona Virus Update
Two of our scholarship students in China have contacted me to offer encouragement and help in our virus crisis. One insisted on sending me 200 masks. I sent masks to China in February and now one of our students, Mo Linhua, is sending masks to me. What a sudden turn of events. I have not heard that any of our students has gotten the virus in China. Our staff has been staying inside and teaching online.

We don't have the virus in our small town, but our local university, a community college, and public and private schools are all closed. My husband and I am staying in and healthy.

The letter below is from Li Jielan.

I am sorry to write to you until now, hoping it didn't come too much later. I learned about various bad news about the new corona virus out breaking severely around the world recently, the USA does too. I wish everyone is safe and sound no matter where we are.

I know how hard to get through this special period when the whole city stopped operating all of sudden, all the industries were banned from working, only the market selling necessary daily goods and the public service was allowed to keep working under extremely strict supervision by the government.

All the Chinese people were banned going out, except for the doctors, nurses and all the fighters who fight against the corona virus directly. Although facing such a difficult tragedy, we never give in the virus, defeat it with full of hope.

I believe American friends will also defeat quickly the virus as do like us. It may be the best chance to stay at home with your families, spending quality time with them, getting done the thing that you are too busy to do usually.

Our country already has made a big success in the control of the spread of the virus, but we still keep warning, get a lot of urgent events to be solved. The school is still be closed, we students still keep staying at home, listening to the class remotely by the Internet.

The tragedy brings to us, unfortunately, but it never defeat us, the only thing that the virus brings us is to make us get together firmly, become stronger. I firmly believe the cities all over the world will recover from the silence, and get much more prosperous. The people will be safe, being happier.

Wish everything will be fine.
Sincerely,

Li Jielan
