We have new students in Myanmar now.

Myanmar is our focus this month.
We have two new programs in Myanmar's Chin State. Both contacts came from university students we know in KY.

Mindat is one area where Khinphong Village schools are entering our program. David Moe and his wife Prissila are our volunteers there with the help of David's father, Tun Thang, who is a retired village teacher.
These two places are so remote that they don't have electricity and it takes three days to get to the nearest city walking. It is a day's drive on a motorcycle except in the rainy season when it is impossible to get there easily.
Another program is in the Maraland area where we are helping two villages, New Taubu and Old Taubu. Bie Paw is our volunteer there. He is passionate about helping his home area.

Bie Paw came to the USA as a refugee five years ago and began to learn English. He had promised his village to send money for school supplies but had been unable to afford to send any money since he is a student. We invited him to set up a sponsorship program for the two Taubu villages with Blessing Hands. .
New Taubu Village only has a few families and the school is in the teacher's home. The villagers use slash and burn agriculture where land belongs to everyone. There are no jobs in the village except planting and hunting. You can see some of the school supplies at the dedication ceremony held in the teacher's home/school in the picture below.
Old Taubu Village has 91 students, who we are giving school supplies at $15 each. If you want to give for this project, message us. They have a larger school that needs a lot of items also.
They got a satellite dish on this motorcycle. Lots of school supplies also made the trip.
Chairs and tables for the school, a generator and flat screen TV all came by motorcycle.
Bie Paw said that it cost $430 to hire a motorcycles to deliver school supplies to his area. He also said that it only cost about $460 to buy a good motorcycle in Myanmar. Our board decided that buying the two areas dedicated motorcycles would save money.

We already have the donation of one motorcycle and want to match that money to provide two more for the other villages. Will you contribute toward a motorcycle for these villages?

Donate toward a $460 motorcycle here. You can also send a check to Blessing Hands, 106 Timber Lane, Morehead, KY 40351. Contact us for more information.
Kipi Pawngia needs a sponsor. she is in the 5th grade at New Taubu school. There are nine students needing. support shown at this link. It only cost $50 a year. They are all primary students.
You can change the life of Na Za Ri by giving him an education. He is also at New Taubu Village. Give at this link or send us a $50 check to Blessing Hands, 106 Timber Lane, Morehead, KY 40351.
Visit Myanmar

David Moe wants people to come to his village with him after March 14th in 2020. He will visit his family and introduce people to the needs in his home village. Maybe you can go by motorcycle instead of walking three days.

If you are a hardy soul with talents to share, consider going with him to Myanmar. It would be a trip back in time to a culture that lives off the land and does not have a monetary outlook. If you are interested in visiting a vastly different culture with a translator who grew up there. A picture of his village is below.

You will need to contact David Moe for more information about how much it would cost and what activities you should expect. Bie Paw will be glad to also take a group to his village after he graduates in May of 2022.
You could even meet your sponsored child in the villages. Below are older children from David Moe's village. Their expenses are more.
You can give a gift of education in honor of a special someone at Christmas. Give one of our Blessing Hands gift cards. A picture of the child sponsored will be in the card. Contact us for more information
Lots of small playground items were recently given to three primary schools in Longfu Township in Guangxi Province, China by Blessing Hands. We collect money for this project from cash jars placed in Chinese Restaurants near Morehead. Drop in your change when you visit them.

Three week Trip to China, Thailand and the Philippines

Jill Hill and I had a great trip to China, Thailand, and the Philippines!
Blessing Hands' Students at Du'an Special Education School in China
The Guo Family

We got to visit the Guo family who lost their mother in an arsonist’s fire. Mr. Guo was also burned badly. He has recovered from his burns but still walks with a limp from scar tissue on his legs. Blessing Hands is giving the family money each month until he can work again. We are also sponsoring his three children's educational expenses.

Tian Muying gave the Guo kids bows and small presents. The little girl, Huanhua, immediately began to draw with the colored pencils we gave the family. The older girl was still at middle school so we left presents for her.
We also sponsor a computer distance learning program for blind students at Du'an Special Education School. This girl, Mo Lijian, has a little sight and wants to learn English online. Does anyone want to volunteer to help her?
Huang Lingyu

This cute, deaf girl is one of our Du’an Special Education students, who we helped to get a cochlear implant to help her develop language. The implant is activated by a device attached in her hair. The matching device inside her head and the operation to install it were very expensive. Some expenses are still owed on the operation. If you would like to give for this expense, please message us.
Wei Shaoan is 10 years old but looks 5. We have 20 students at Du'an Special Education School. You can sponsor one of them for $280 per year. Give a sponsorship on our website.

The school needs a dedicated car to serve the over 90 students who are homebound by their disabilities. They are preparing a proposal for a car grant to present to Blessing Hands.
Mao Xianjia

We were able to visit with present and past college students in Yangshuo, Guilin, and Nanning. Several did videos talking about their experience with Blessing Hands. Here we are featuring Mao Xianjia, one of our first scholarship students. She is a lab technician in Yangshuo now and uses her experience as a Blessing Hands student to be kind to the countryside families she helps.
Mao Xianjia thanks Blessing Hands for her education
Middle School Students
in Wuxuan County in Guangxi, China
Zhang Zhifeng
Wei Chungfang
Huang Qinglan
We enjoyed meeting 12 new students at two middle schools in Wuxuan County. We sang the Hokey Pokey song with some of them. Each one needs a sponsor to give 2250 RMB ($320) a year for their support. You can give at our website. Message us the name of the student you want.
Huang Xinxiang
Huang Fangting
Zhou Jinting
Qinzhou No. 1 High School
Jill Hill and I got to see 60 of our students in Qinzhou. We have been sponsoring students there for 13 years. They always give us homemade cards and small gifts. One student gave a mask he had made.

The two girls are showing off bead bracelets we gave them. The bracelets are made by volunteers and come with a message of hope and blessings.

You can partially sponsor one of these high school students for $166 a year. Donate here. We have high school students needing sponsors at 12 schools in Qinzhou Prefecture.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Our first project in Thailand is En Hui School near Chiang Mai and the border with Myanmar. We have 25 new kids there who need school support. The Christian school was started by Pastor Li Tianshou and his wife in 2005 to help refugee children and those affected by drug families. It has evolved into a Chinese language school in an area where many children, who can afford to pay, want to learn Chinese to advance their educational goals.

Now there are 870 students in total in the school, but 71 cannot afford their tuition. Nearly 20-30% of the students do not have their own nationality, which confines them to live and work only in this small village. Most are Thai Chinese but many minority languages are spoken by the children. The school teaches classes in Chinese mostly. You can sponsor a child here for about $60 a year depending on their age. Let us know if you want to sponsor one.
Our Thailand team included Jill HIll, Yaya Luo (Huali), and Michelle Tian (Muying). Yaya got to see the books her friends gave to the En Hui School The lady in black dots is Pastor Li's wife Tang.
Li Shiyi

We noticed one little girl, Li Shiyi, following the pastor everywhere he went. She was his shadow. When we were giving out presents to the 25 kids we had selected beforehand by their ages, she asked why she was not included. It seems that she was not on the list because she had arrived at the school as a refugee from Myanmar after the list was made.

She was such a sweet, shy child that we added her to the list when we found that two children had moved to a different school since the list was made. She got her bow like the others, and we hope a sponsor will choose her for $50 a year.
The Philippines

River Springs School
Roselynn
Bonifacie

Our last stop was Manila where we have 20 kids. Only one has a sponsor.

Their support is $500 a year. It is not a public school so tuition costs are higher. Jill and Steve Hill have been working with this Christian school for several years and seen it grow from a few students to over a hundred now.

We joined them in a sports day the first day, and then participated in a feeding of students from the nearby neighborhood on the next day. They had rice and meat prepared at the school. We gave them all T-shirts.
Stephen Cantuba is the son of a single mother who is unable to work. He is five.
Mheljhon Rey Palmaalso known as MJ, is a cheerful and thoughtful lad, despite not having his parents with him. His mother left him with grandparents when he was a baby. His father does not acknowledge him. His mother has her own new family but has not sent any financial support for MJ.
Abbygail C. Baraquiel is the youngest child in her family. She lives with her mother, two of her half-siblings, and two cousins.
Our students, teachers, and the volunteer helpers
For the neighborhood children, we paid for a Saturday lunch, which included meat.
Mikalla Christian Faith B. Anat's family lives with 3 other families to save money.
Kristel Venice B. Vasaylaje lives with her grandparents and has no communication with her mother.
Do you need a gift idea for Christmas?

We can prepare sponsorship cards to give to your loved ones for Christmas gifts.

You can sponsor a child for $50
in their honor.
