Du'an Special Education School 42 Computer Project
Summer Trip Plans
in Guangxi Province, China. That will let each of the 14 classrooms have three computers. We will be launching a GoFundMe campaign for donors in the near future. We will need your help to spread it online to various social media sites. Right now, we have a new video of our visit to the school completed. You can see it at this link.
The children are deaf, blind, and physically handicapped, but they can learn computer skills to support themselves in the future. We plan voice controlled software and screen readers for the blind students. The others can enjoy special educational software. We have enthusiastic volunteers working on a grant, but we want to have matching funds raised to facilitate the grant. Please give to our matching fund.
Water Purifier Plans
The East Oldham Middle School water purifier team will again be in Yangshuo, China June 26th - July 2nd to install five water purifiers in primary schools. Teachers and staff from the school have joined together with the students to raise money for the effort to send five team members and buy a water purifier. There will also be a China team coming from Kunming to help install them. The Gao family has helped install purifiers and funded purifiers for three years now. What a blessing the primary schools will receive in clean, safe water.
Wuxuan County and Miao Minority Program
Several friends and volunteers from China will join us to visit our new students in both Wuxuan County in Guangxi and the Miao minority children in Yunnan Province.
We have sponsors for all of these new students but two Li children in the same family. You can sponsor one for $84 for partial help or $295 for complete yearly sponsorship including books, clothes, and school food. You can see these two Li children at this Link. Contact us to select a student. We also have students in Yangshuo needing sponsors. Follow this link to see them.
Our whole trip will end on July 15th after we have visited schools, projects, and friends. We will have scholarship lunches in four cities to see our college students. One MSU college student, Kayla Mitchell, will travel with us this time. Matthew Liu and Eddy Wu will participate in our projects also. Matthew is our board member in China, and Eddy is especially interested in water purification.
