New Program in Gansu
We have spread to the Northwest of China
New Gansu Program
p
Zhang lives with his 70 year old grandparents, who are weak themselves. His parents are missing.
Another sponsorship program in
Gansu Province
Ou's father has been ill this year and the family has had a hard time with bills. She is a
high school student.
We have accepted 10 new students to sponsor in Gansu Province 甘肃省 with the help of volunteer Roy Hu. These students are all ages from primary to high school. Gansu is a poor province in Northwest China where little rain falls. Their sponsorship will vary in cost. They will need 1800 yuan ($290) for primary students, 225 yuan ($366) for middle school student, and 2700 yuan ($435) for high school students per year. We are encouraging monthly payments through your bank's bill pay to make the payments easier.
Hu has a dream to make a difference in the world. He has 2 sisters and a brother. He is a lower middle school student.
Gansu, located in the Northwest is one of the Provinces of China that lacks water and good soil. Earthquakes, droughts and famines affect the area. Mining, oil, and mineral extraction are their main sources of income. The Gobi Desert where China's space program is located is partly in the province. It is among the poorest provinces of China with a per capital income of 12,836 RMB (1,879 USD). 73% of the population is rural.
Guan Xiaofang has her scholarship now. We have 66 college scholarship students this year.
I want to thank all those who have given college scholarship this year. Most students have their full scholarships, but we still have a few whose sponsors have dropped out. Please consider helping the students below.
Guo Lunmin, in red, needs $100 more since she lost one sponsor. This is her last year studying landscaping.
Zeng Qunhui lacks $100. She is studying to be a teacher. This is her junior year.
Qin Guoying had a sponsor who had to drop out this year. You can sponsor her for $300. She is a junior studying law.
