Beginning of GoodGiving Challenge

GOODGIVING CHALLENGE STARTS SOON

Blessing Hands will feature students needing sponsorships in Liberia, Tanzania, Myanmar, Thailand, China, and the

Philippines during the GoodGiving Challenge this year.

In January, Blessing Hands will partner with a school in Tanzania to provide sponsorships for 5 Masaii Girls. Masaii girls are not encouraged to attend school or learn to read. We see education as an opportunity to change their lives and the lives of their families and villages. If you want to sponsor one write to this email.

GoodGiving Challenge

The GoodGiving Challenge is an Online Fundraiser for KY Nonprofits Hosted by the Blue Grass Community Foundation.

It is our big fundraiser for our child sponsorships each year. There will be a main Blessing Hands donation page and extra fundraising pages to let you donate to specific programs like Africa, Thailand, Myanmar, China, and the Philippines.

The Challenge starts on Giving Tuesday after Thanksgiving and ends on December 1st. During this time, there are matches each day to increase giving opportunities. The pages are not live now. There will also be daily prizes that you can earn on social media without giving any money at all.

DAILY PRIZES

From 4 - 6 p.m. each day of the GoodGiving Challenge, Mason Investments will match the first $2,500 in donations, 50 cents per $1, on gifts up to $100. Also, every day during this time frame, the BIue Grass Community Foundation will randomly select a donation to a nonprofit to receive a $500 prize! You need to give quickly at 4 pm before the pool is exhausted.

Each day of the Challenge, Blue Grass Community Foundation will make a special post on one of their social media channels. Simply “like” BIue Grass Community Foundation (@BGCFKY) on their Facebook and Instagram pages and follow the directions in their daily posts to win $250 prizes for the nonprofit of your choice!

EARLY GIVING, NOVEMBER 14-27

Tuesday, November 14 - Monday, November 27 (or until the pool is exhausted)

Cannot support your favorite causes during the GoodGiving Challenge? Give early! Early Giving is NEW this year. The James A. and Martha R. Brown Charitable Foundation is providing a $50,000 match pool that will match donations 50 cents per $1.00 on gifts up to $250 with a maximum match of $125 per gift. This match pool starts on November 14th and lasts until the GoodGiving Challenge starts or until the match pool is exhausted.

Here's how you can get involved:

Spread the Word:

  • Share our fundraising campaign with your friends, family, and colleagues. Use social media, email, and other communication channels to raise awareness about the Challenge and the importance of child sponsorship.

Set Up a Fundraising Page:

  •  We encourage you to set up a personal fundraising page to share with friends. Whether it's $50, $100, $500, or more, every dollar counts and makes a difference in the lives of those we serve.
  • For example, Xiaomin Mai will set up a Chinese page, especially for members of the Lexington Chinese Christian Church. A member at LCCC will match dollar for dollar every donation from old and new members of that church anytime during the Challenge.

If you are interested in setting up a Fundraising Page, please contact Jessie Mansfield at Jessie@blessing-hands.org. She will provide you with all the necessary resources and support to make your fundraising campaign a success.
